The term Peer typically refers to individuals who hold similar positions within the organizational hierarchy, have similar job responsibilities, and are generally at the same level within the organization. Peers are colleagues who work together in a collaborative manner to achieve common goals and objectives. The concept of peers is often associated with a horizontal relationship within the organization, as opposed to a vertical relationship that exists between individuals at different levels of hierarchy (e.g., supervisors and subordinates).
